3 R's Principles

Valayam, a Waste Management Consultancy company, follows 3 R principles, Reduce, Re-use & Re-cycle and do consultation for Composting.

Compost, in short, is one of nature's best mulches and soil amendments. An earth-friendly gardener will strive to use compost instead of commercial chemical fertilizers.

The fact is, decomposition happens in nature all the time: materials such as leaves, vegetables, fruit, plants, weeds, stems, twigs, bugs, animals, microbes, etc. die and decay. The remains eventually are absorbed into the soil and the nutrients are used by living roots, fungi, and other microorganisms.

Zero Budget Farming

Natural and organic fertilizer differs from chemicals in that they feed your plants while building the soil. Soils with lots of organic material remain loose and airy, hold more moisture and nutrients, foster growth of soil organisms, and promote healthier plant root development.

Zero budget farming methods is what Valayam recommends...

If only chemical fertilizers are added the soil gradually loses its organic matter and microbiotic activity. As this material is used up, the soil structure deteriorates, becoming compact, lifeless and less able to hold water and nutrients. More water will be required and the land will become (useless) for agriculture.
